There’s a line in the Bible that says, “perfect love casteth out fear”.
This clip reminded me of that verse.
In 2004 Josh broke his back trying a flip on skis. This video is his journey back to that place. That moment of being upside down on skis. A moment, that when last experienced, resulted in a life altering failure.
No one would blame Josh for never trying a flip again, let alone ever trying to ski again. But this video reminded me that verse. The love of his friends, his love of skiing, his love of that moment. That love casts out the fear that could have kept him on the sidelines. Afraid to take that risk. Afraid to fail. Again.
It’s Valentines Day so love is on the mind. But in the world of startups, every day is filled with this tension between fear and love. We take risks. We fail. Over and over again. We have every right to be afraid to get back on the horse, as Josh says.
But love casteth out fear. Love of our family, love of our team, love of our product, love of the possible. Yeah, it’s sappy and probably overstated but it’s Valentines Day so watch the video and ask yourself what you’re afraid of.
Then do that.
You have got to see this!
Wow!
No Fear For Real.
